Banks in Sydney: opening hours

Commonwealth and Other Banks in Sydney: opening hours Usually, banks in Sydney open during workweek from 9:00/9:30 am to 4:00/5:00 pm.  Mostly, banking facilities are available longer on Fridays, usually until 5:00 pm, and some branches have extended working hours which means they are open on Saturday mornings. All banks are closed on public holidays. There are few exceptions, so it is always good to check opening and closing times. 

In what times banks are usually open?

HSBC Australia branches in Sydney open 9:30 am – 4:00 pm Monday to Thursday, until 5:00 pm on Friday, and closed on weekends.

Citibank Sydney’s branches operate from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday and also closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Westpac Sydney bank branches operate according to the following schedule:

  • General opening hours are 9:30 am – 4:00 pm on working days, and until 5:00 pm on Fridays
  • Also, offices in some locations work on Saturdays starting at 9:00 or 9:30 am and closing at 1:00 or 2:00 pm
  • Westpac Private Banking Centres operate on all weekdays, except Sunday, with longer working hours (8:00 am – 6:00 pm Monday to Friday and 9:00 am – 1:00 pm on Saturdays)
  • Westpac Superannuation and Business Loans departments also work longer – 8:00 am – 6:30 pm and 8:00 am – 8:00 pm

St. George Bank branches are open 9:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday to Thursday and 9:30 am – 5:00 pm on Friday. There are also branches that work on Saturdays starting at 9:30 am and closing at 12:30 pm.

National Australia Bank (NAB) Sydney branches also are open 9:30 am – 4:00 pm Mondays through Thursdays, and until 5:00 pm on Fridays. 

ANZ Sydney bank branches open at 9:30 am and close at 4:00 pm on all working days except Fridays, when they are open until 5:00 pm.

Rabobank Sydney office operates from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on all working days and closed on weekends.

Branches with longer hours

Some banks’ branches in Sydney open longer because of their location. For example, there are two ANZ Bank branches it the Sydney Airport.

The branch in International Terminal Arrivals offers services of foreign currency conversion, money transfers and fast deposits. In the second one in International Departures, it is possible to make an appointment with a Small Business Specialist or Financial Planner. Both are available 5:30 am – 10:00 pm.

Of course, listed working hours cannot be considered as certain, because they might be different from branch to branch. However, in general working hours are as listed above.
